Best Edition Dogged Days on the Florida Trail with Free PDF EDITION!

This book is not as well-written as others by the author. It seems rushed and doesn't appear to have been edited by a professional, as there are numerous errors that should have been corrected prior to publication. For example, the author described Katana as the "bell of the ball" instead of the "belle of the ball," confused words (cite vs site, wildlife vs. wild life), overused the word "unique," added many superfluous commas, and often ended or split sentences with an ellipsis ... to the point of annoyance. He also used parentheses at least per page to interject ideas or separate out words that just should have been incorporated into the sentence, and often inserted hyphens where they don't belong. A good editor will correct all that, which is why it's worth paying one to work over your manuscript if you want to be an author. Additionally, the writing is often wordy, with extraneous details that don't add to the story. Do we really need to know how many attached and unattached ticks the author pulled off himself and Katana each day? I'm guessing the author included trivial details to try to add more to the book, since the Florida Trail is only half the length of the AT or PCT, and covers decidedly more boring terrain. But adding more words did not make it a better or more interesting story. While I enjoyed reading about the author’s adventures with Katana, this book misses the mark.
